The eight firefighters from Chapala, Mexico have arrived back home safe and sound – it was an extremely successful trip. The training went well, and they were hosted at a different home every night for dinner. They returned home with five big boxes of medical supplies, an oxygen tank and related equipment.

The Rotary Foundation budget for this project was $3,000 and the club was able to secure additional funds from the Chapala Rotary Club ($550) which gave us $3,550 in total. And, thanks to the generosity of our club members, we collected other donations for the project for a grand total of $5,100.

The total costs to the firefighters was $2,405, giving the firefighters $2,695 for purchasing much needed safety equipment such as gloves, shields and other items.

Thanks to everyone who made this project such a success for our firefighters from Chapala and supporting our continuing partnership with them.  We’re told that the ambulance we donated eighteen months ago has been very important and responsible for saving thirty lives!
